UCI Behavioral Medicine Research Collective

The UCI Behavioral Medicine Research Collective (BMRC) is a collaborative group of interdisciplinary researchers and clinicians committed to the furthering of translational behavioral medicine science. The BMRC works to foster professional collaborations and an interdisciplinary focus on cutting edge behavioral medicine research that will enhance the health of individuals and communities.

Collectively, BMRC investigators’ research programs cover the entire spectrum of behavioral medicine, ranging from studies of basic mechanisms whereby psychosocial and behavioral factors underlie the development and course of medical symptoms and conditions to the development and evaluation of innovative behavioral treatment and prevention interventions to prevent disease, improve management of existing disease, increase quality of life, and reduce disparities in health. Our researchers represent expertise across scientific and clinical areas including health psychology, cancer control, psychiatry, nursing, epidemiology, pharmaceutical science, neuroscience, public health, and medicine.
